Bansko offers fantastic opportunities for beginners, and English speaking ski instruction is available.  The ski area is a paradise for the intermediate skier. The picturesque runs are well maintained and many of the descents are wide and tree-lined. Bansko also offers a fantastic 16km non-stop run from the top of the Todorka peak, right to the base of the gondola station at the head of the resort. The last 7km of this piste is floodlit, and much of the mountain is now equipped with snow cannons, making for great skiing throughout the season.

This region has a tremendous variety of skiing, ranging from the main  point at Tracouet, and the easy link to Super Nendaz (Siviez), providing access to the fantastic and vast 4 Vallées ski area. There are more than 400kms of marked pistes and excellent Swiss ski school facilities. There are a number of snow parks and half pipes for snowboarders.  Considerably cheaper than Verbier and far better placed, the resort even has a World Cup Downhill Run.

This resort has a friendly atmosphere and the village is relaxed. Nendaz is proud holder of the Swiss ‘Family Friendly’ resort award, and families are made to feel very welcome here.

Chamonix, the site of the first Winter Olympics in 1924, is the main resort in a valley dominated by Mont Blanc, western Europe’s highest mountain peak. It boasts some of the best skiing and scenery in the French Alps, and a hard-to-beat list of winter sports activities. One of the world’s greatest downhill runs is the 13-mile journey down the Valle Blanche glacier and the Sea of Ice, a drop of 9,200 feet; the highest lift-served vertical descent in the world. Chamonix has six separate ski areas within the valley, offering a total of more than 90 miles of prepared slopes and trails and 48 lifts.

Les Grands Montets,which rises above the village of Argentiere near Chamonix, is particularly popular with powder skiers and snowboarders.

Courchevel is the largest of the resorts located in the world famous Three Valleys area of France. The Three Valleys makes up the world’s largest ski domain: an area with 372 miles of trails and slopes that are interconnected with 198 lifts.  Courchevel alone has 65 lifts and 102 runs, with a top vertical descent of more than 4,700 feet. Courchevel is built on four different levels, from 4,290 feet to 5,940. The highest cluster of buildings at Courchevel 1850 (m) is, arguably, the most fashionable with luxury hotels and chalets and an energetic night life. Much of the accommodation allows skiers to step out of the door and into their skis.

Morzine Ski Chalets

Morzine is a traditional village in the Haute-Savoie area in the Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France.
